  • Native Plant Sale Spotlight: Wild Ginger (Asarum caudatum)
Looking for a lovely native groundcover? Wild ginger has you covered! It will bring broad, heart-shaped leaves with springtime dark purple flowers to your garden. This evergreen perennial prefers moist soils and partial to full shade. Wild ginger spreads through rhizomes, which means they grow through horizontal growing stems. They grow 6″ tall and spread to 18″ wide or more, creating a nice green mat of groundcover. Also, the roots can be eaten fresh or dried and ground as a substitute for conventional ginger.

Order yours today from KCD’s Native Plant Sale!
